Do you have children between the ages of 14 and 17? Are you planning on sending them to college after graduation from high school? You need to know about the HOPE Scholarship. Created in 1993 by then Governor Zell Miller and funded entirely by the Georgia Lottery, the scholarship provides money to assist students with the costs of attending Georgia Colleges and Universities. The HOPE Scholarship is available to Georgia residents who have demonstrated academic achievement, and to date the HOPE Scholarship has awarded over $6.4 Billion to over 1.4 million Georgia students.
HOPE Scholarship recipients that are full time students and maintain a 3.0 GPA or better receive $1,800 per semester or $1,200 per quarter for tuition. Also, the scholarship pays for up to 127 semester hours of credit.
By purchasing a New Home in one of Grayhawk Homes Georgia Communities, your children will be eligible for the Hope Scholarship. This can save families tens of thousands of dollars in college tuition as well as give many students the ability to pursue a college degree. While you search homes for sale in Columbus, Georgia and Phenix City, Alabama, consider the benefits of buying a home in a Georgia community.
